Abolition Academy: The “Slave State vs. Free State” Concern
The Abolition Amendment was designed to be passed and ratified at the federal level, thereby ending slavery and emancipating all animals throughout the United States of America. But with a simple modification of the text, the Abolition Amendment can also be enacted at the state level. The Humane Party expressly encourages activists to pursue abolition at the state level, even before sufficient numbers have been attained to achieve victory at the national level. However, as the Compromise of 1820 (“Missouri Compromise”) marks its 200th anniversary, it is worth examining a concern associated with the state-by-state approach.

Today is Earth Day, and today is the 10th anniversary of the Humane Party, which was founded on the fundamental ideas of abolition of exploitation. Reviving the Abolition Party’s Logo
Prior to launching on Earth Day (April 22), 2009, the Humane Party had three alternative names: the “Vegan Party,” the “Abolition Party,” and the “Humane Party.” While the name was under debate, a logo was designed for the Abolition Party. Activists are welcome to reactivate this dormant logo, where appropriate.
Celebrating Abolition Day 2018
This Thursday, December 6, 2018, marks the third annual celebration of Abolition Day. Abolition Day was launched by the Humane Party in 2015 both (i) to commemorate the end of human slavery in the United States (1865) and (ii) to promote the abolition of all slavery. The date of December 6 was chosen for this national celebration because it was on this day in 1865 that the number of states necessary to ratify the 13th Amendment was reached.
Election results 2018: Carnist parties sweep all 50 states—again
Carnist candidates swept elections in all 50 states on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. While the Democrat-Republicans retain their exclusive hegemony in both houses of the U.S. Congress as well as in all 50 state legislatures, more than one billion animals are tortured, mutilated, raped, molested, kidnapped, and killed each year in the U.S. These violent and perverse acts remain legal as a direct result of Democrat-Republican political supremacy at the state and federal level. However, ramp-up for the 2020 U.S. Senate, House, and Presidential races begins immediately. There is no time for delay. Environmentalists, animal rights activists, vegans, and abolitionists who wish to halt and reverse this process are invited to run for office.
On November 6th, 2018, U.S. voters could liberate more than 1 billion animals
Each year, more than a billion animals are mutilated, tortured, kidnapped, raped, slashed, electrocuted, strangled, burned, skinned, and/or killed in U.S. vivisection laboratories, slaughterhouses, and other mass-killing facilities. On Election Day, November 6th, 2018, all of that could change.
Underground Railroad Heritage Center Opens in Niagara Falls, New York
A museum and convention hall commemorating the Underground Railroad has opened in Niagara Falls, New York, to honor the courage, sacrifice, and determination of the many people who helped escapees in their journey to freedom prior to abolition of human slavery in the United States.
The clandestine network that helped people escape from bondage in the U.S. represents an early American example of direct action which can be viewed, in that regard, as an antecedent to the Animal Liberation Front of today.
