An Introduction: Uncaged Verses

An open birdcage hanging in the sky with a bird flying free into the clouds, symbolizing liberation and freedom.

Uncaged Verses
Poetry that breaks the silence.
In a world where voices are chained by power, these verses rise unbound. Uncaged Verses gives language to grief, resistance, and the quiet courage of compassion. Anonymous by choice, the poet writes not for recognition but for liberation—reminding us that words, like beings, were never meant to be confined.

Compassion Is Not a Crime

They told us
to look away—
from the cages,
the fires,
the bodies lined up in silence.

But we looked anyway.
We listened to the cries
that laws could not silence,
that profit could not erase.

We learned
that mercy is rebellion,
that love is subversive
when the world worships power.

And still—
with hands unarmed,
with voices unshaken—
we choose the side of the vulnerable.

Because compassion
is not weakness.
It is resistance.
It is the oldest truth,
and the one the future demands.

This is the first installment of Uncaged Verses—poetry that breaks the silence. Anonymous by design, these words speak for all who cannot.
